RAJHAD – REFUGEE

"Within the last few years I definitely feel more of a cultural split.

It's the same in every city. It's like the whole country has been split into 'us' and 'them'."

RATIONALE:

Shape:

A visual representation of the harsh split in cultural boundaries within Britain as spoken about by Rajhad and his experience of sections feeling like they belong to 'us' and 'them'.

Colours:

The black and white symbolises the majority and minority of the white British compared to other other ethnic minority groups. They are positioned on the flag as opposing one another visualising Rajhad's experiences. The red and orange represents the two main religions within the area Rajhad resides - Islam and Judaism.
