Supporting students with weekly feedback and project crits as well as delivering relevant guest lectures on themes including art direction, design research and concepting.

London College of Communication

A session for first year students on the BA Magazine Journalism & Publishing course as part of their  Multiplatform Magazine Journalism unit. 

The talk and workshop focussed on how to develop an effective visual toolkit, the importance of branding and design, how to develop personality and tone-of-voice through visual messaging, art direction and styling, and the importance of consistency.

A New Direction — Flipside

Teaching, facilitation and delivery of Flipside, a 12-week industry-led bootcamp designed for young people aged 18 to 30, alongside multiple leading design agencies including Made by Many, Ustwo, BYND, and more.

The course is designed to give a broad foundation of the technical skills and insights needed to build digital products, as well as teaching the behaviours, mindset, and wider employability skills young people need to break into the industry today. 

Flipside is organised by A New Direction, an award winning non-profit organisation working to diversify and address under-representation within the creative industry.

Monthly mentorship as part of the LCC industry mentoring programme, focused at helping BA, MA and recent graduates (up to three years out of education) link to industry.

Periodical work with a group of final year Graphic Design students including a guest lecture focussing on the theme of art direction, visual storytelling and creative processes, as well as ongoing mentorship supporting them with insights and advice related to course projects and wider industry guidance.

Creative Lives in Progress is an inclusive creative careers resource, on a mission to transform the way emerging talent access, understand and connect with the industry by encouraging greater transparency and representation within the creative working world.

Non Linear

Delivery of a session focussed on teaching how to dissect and understand a brief, and how to use a brief to effectively generate creative ideas.

Non Linear, is a full-time, 13 week intensive training course led by well-known creatives across music, art, design and film. The course enabled attendees aged 18 – 24 to unlock their talents, to incubate ideas, and to grow creative capacity so they can land a role in the creative industries or start their own business.

The course curriculum is co-designed and co-delivered by Barking and Dagenham College and A New Direction supported by University College London.

You Can Now: Mentorship

Mentoring a young designer on a regular basis as part of the YCN mentorship initiative, which aimed to help support young creatives entering the industry by pairing them with industry professionals for a purposeful and focussed programme.

Creativity Works

Session titled WTF is a Creative!? A talk and workshop focussed on demystifying the contemporary creative industry, helping break down potential opportunities in this world and equipping attendees with some of the key skills required to enter the industry today.

Creativity Works: Content Production is a 6-week intensive course. The course is designed for 35 creatives with aspirations to develop skills in storytelling & production, and gain the connections needed for a career in creating content for TV, long & short-form film, music, advertising, web and social media.
